When areTraffic lights to be installed on Brighton Hill roundabout?

Traffic congestion continues to be a problem for drivers in the Brighton Hill area of Basingstoke, especially during peak periods.

.

Recent work was carried out providing clearer road markings and additional signage, but this appears to have only “tinkered” with the problem rather than create a long term solution.

South Ham Councillors solution is to put traffic lights on Brighton Hill roundabout.

Funding is not the issue as Hampshire County Council has collected millions of pounds from Homebase, ASDA and others to contribute towards the costs of improving the roundabout.

The issue was taken up by in South Ham Councillors in 2005.

Gerald Traynor your Labour Councillor offered the solution of putting traffic lights on the roundabout to Hampshire County Council but was turned down.

We are now several years on with no traffic lights and no solution.
