House price activity in Basingstoke during the period January 2009 to June 2010

 

Average house values across Basingstoke covering all property types were £173900 in January 2009. November 2009 saw the highest for 2009 at £235560.

 

The month of May this year has seen the highest Basingstoke property value since January 2009 at £237580, but surprisingly the month before Basingstoke experienced the lowest for the entire period to June 2010 from January 2009 to date. In June this year average house prices dropped slightly to £232140.

 

The total number of properties sold in Basingstoke for the period January 2009 to June 2010 has seen some extreme highs and lows.

 

January 2009 saw 80 properties and poultry 42 Basingstoke houses sold in June this year, but surprisingly 263 properties changed hands during the month of December 2009. During this busiest month for Basingstoke property transactions, the average selling price for all properties was £235320, the second highest monthly value for the period January 2009 to June 2010.

 

Sales of terraced properties in Basingstoke have led the way consistently over the entire period January 2009 to June 2010. Out of the 163 properties sold in Basingstoke during December 2009, 141 were terraced houses.
